Privacy policy
footage.cool is a one-person footage licensing business. It collects the minimum needed to sell you a clip and deliver it, and it doesn't sell or rent your data to anyone.
What we collect, and why
- Checkout details. When you buy a license, Stripe collects your name, email, and payment details to process the charge. Card numbers go to Stripe, not to our servers — we never see or store them. We keep your email and the order record (which clip, which license, when) so we can deliver your download link and license PDF, re-issue them on request, and keep the sales records the law requires.
- Analytics. The site uses Google Analytics (which sets cookies) and Plausible (cookieless, aggregate-only) to understand which pages and clips people look at. We don't run ad targeting or build visitor profiles.
- Server logs. Like nearly every website, the server keeps standard access logs (IP address, browser user-agent, pages requested) for security and operations.
What we don't do
- No accounts, so there's no password or profile to protect.
- No selling, renting, or sharing of personal data with third parties beyond the services named above (Stripe for payments, Google and Plausible for analytics, and our email provider for sending receipts and license PDFs).
- No marketing emails. You hear from us when you buy something or when you write to us.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets its standard cookies; Plausible sets none. Blocking cookies in your browser doesn't affect browsing, previewing, or purchasing on this site.
Your choices
Email licensing@footage.cool to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. We'll do so promptly, keeping only what tax and sales-record rules require us to retain.
