footage.cool is operated by filmmaker Phil Maher. Using the site or buying a license means you accept these terms.

Previews are for evaluation

Every clip on the site streams as a watermarked, low-resolution preview so you can judge the shot before paying. Previews and thumbnails may not be used in finished work, re-hosted, scraped in bulk for redistribution, or passed off as licensed footage. The clean master comes with a purchase.

Purchases are licenses

Buying a clip grants you a license from Phil Maher — the copyright holder — under the License Terms. The license PDF issued with your purchase is the controlling document for that purchase. Copyright in the footage itself always remains with Phil Maher.

Refunds

Clips are digital files delivered instantly, so a sale is final once the master has been downloaded. Bought the wrong clip, got charged twice, or hit a technical problem with a file? Email licensing@footage.cool with your receipt and it gets fixed, swapped, or refunded.

Releases and your use

Footage is cleared for editorial use as shot. For commercial uses where a person or private property is recognizable, obtaining model or property releases is your responsibility, as set out in the License Terms. You're responsible for how you use licensed footage in your own projects.

The site, as-is

The site and its content are provided as-is. We work to keep it accurate and available but don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, liability for any claim connected to the site or a license is limited to the amount you paid for the license at issue.

Changes

These terms may be updated; the current version is always at this URL with the date below. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
